Objectives
Participatory study for strategic interventions in the district of GD to improve the collective spaces system / network (ECS)
The Participatory study for strategic interventions in the district of GD to improve the collective spaces system/network (CSS) has as one of its final objectives the elaboration of an executive urban plan of strategic/tactical improvement of the district, through the system of collective spaces. "Strategic and tactical" means a final process and project in accordance with the specific resources, capacities and local context, as well as, at the level of urban planning, an integrated approach to urban space, that is to say, the physical-functional connectivity of collective spaces. The collective spaces are defined as the set of common spaces, which cover the public spaces; the teams and services of collective use, the spaces of collective transport and the mobility, and the spaces of collective tertiary activities.
In this way, the executive technical plan of an integrated and secure urban route system/network, promotes better accessibility and mobility of citizens through public space and other functional spaces in the neighborhood and gives continuity to the functional areas Surrounding and the neighborhood. The project was planned as a replicable experience in the rest of the urban fabric and extensible to the surrounding neighborhoods, and at the same time, in collaboration with the project Kaya Clinica, more centered in the space of housing in the framework of the "right to roof".
This project aims to promote a more integrated program in this urban space, which in parallel and/or later stages can be implemented through a multisectoral and multidisciplinary collaborative participation of urban actors. In this sense, initiatives are being developed for future collaboration with various agencies in the field of implementation, namely the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, UNICEF and UNHabitat and UNWoman of Mozambique.
Another objective of this project is the implementation of activities of permanent support to the teaching, research and extension in the field of the FAPF formation, with the participation of professors and students. In this context, researcher architect Miriam Arwen Prendergast Gumbao, will support in 2019 the discipline and the professor of urban planning and the director of the CEDH (Center for Habitat Development Studies) Domingos Macucule, where students will study the district Jorge Dimitrov as a case of study, including field work with the support of the data of the neighborhood produced by DUOT, and where 10 students Kaya Clínica will participate in the field work of the project as interns.
With this aim, the project is based on multiple actions related with research, training, technical support and participation, through which it intends to achieve the results (R) listed below:
R1- Integral survey of collective spaces of the neighborhood and surrounding areas, analysis and diagnosis:
R2- Choice of strategic interventions to improve the network / CS system, through a program of activities of capacities for women, children, technical staff and local leaders, and participatory workshops, structured in sector workshops (from the women, children, elders, vendors, representatives of equipment and services, local leaders, technical staff, among others) and mixed.
